The Association for Choral Music Education (ACME) was established in 1990 by ten founding members: Barbara Tagg, Janet Galvan, Henry Leck, Sandra Snow, Linda Ferreira, Tim Sharp, Rebecca Rottsolk, Doreen Rao, Joan Gregoryk and the late Ethelyn Sparfeld. As a professional association of accomplished conductors, teachers and composers, ACME is a nonprofit organization dedicated to choral teacher education, professional certification programs and the on-going support of choral teachers around the world. ACME sponsors CME Certification Courses in the United States, Canada, England, Ireland and Scotland. Annual meetings and study retreats are held in January.
