CME Institute PDF Print E-mail

The CME Institute for Choral Teacher Education was founded in 1986 by Doreen Rao, then Music Director of the Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus and her composer colleague, Lee Kesselman. The annual professional development courses for conductors and music educators focus on choral repertoire, voice and movement skills, conducting and rehearsal pedagogy. The CME Institute’s innovative and inspirational summer programs are dedicated to the music of emerging composers and the artistry of choral educators seeking to develop and refine their conducting and teaching skills in the company of artists and in a community of colleagues.
